Rafie Baez
I serve in the United States Air Force working on helicopters. In the photo I was part of the Air Force Reserves. I chose 17³Ô¹Ï because I heard good things about the education I would get here and because it’s located in my community. My experience in the service continues to help me at the College. I learned a lot of life lessons in the military. Whether it’s speaking in front of people in a communications class or remembering equations for math class my military experience has been beneficial to me.
My fondest memory of 17³Ô¹Ï is spending time with my friends between classes. Hopefully we’ll soon be able to do that again. Ironically, where the campus sits today used to be an airfield named Mitchel Airfield. Also in those years was the transition from the Army Air Corps into what is today’s air force.
