Kyra Cardoso
Kyra Cardoso chose to come to 17³Ô¹Ï for its affordability and for
the opportunity to earn a degree in acting. She recently acted in Noel Calloway’s "Mr.
Santa," a movie about restoring the Christmas spirit.
"My experience in being a part of the film was wonderful. Everyone was so unbelievably
kind and talented. You could feel the passion from everyone on set," said Kyra. "Working with such a seasoned and professional cast and crew in my role as Maddie Wiseman was the greatest learning experience. "
Kyra is scheduled to graduate from 17³Ô¹Ï this summer. "Being able to work professionally and continue my education was very important to
me, and going to Nassau allowed me to do that. I practically live at the theater building when rehearsing for shows, and have become
close with many other like-minded students," she said. Kyra fondly remembers when
she and other acting students were nominated as a group for the Kennedy Center American
College Theatre Festival and took a road trip to Cape Cod to participate in the workshops
and compete in the regional competition. With all these experiences she would definitely
recommend Nassau to other students, especially those who want to build a foundation
in the theater industry.
After graduating from 17³Ô¹Ï, Kyra plans to continue to pursue her career in acting.
