I served in the United States Marine Corps, stationed at Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.  I spent over a year collectively at both Camp Hansen and Camp Fuji, both in Japan.  I chose 17³Ô¹Ï for my education because I heard it had an amazing Fire Science program.  I am in the process of joining the FDNY and want all the knowledge possible on the subject matter.

My time in the service was definitely a wake-up call to the smaller things in life that students complain about, as I did in high school.  It also taught me that I can accomplish anything as long as I put my mind to it.  I learned time management, how to work under pressure and overall to become a better man.

As a freshman at Nassau my only memory is bringing my paperwork to the registrar.  Although it seemed like a meaningless thing I had to do, she made me feel like a student already.  She was beyond kind and even thanked me for my service.  One thing about 17³Ô¹Ï that I believe most people don’t know about is the number of different majors and different courses you can take.  And most importantly, how devoted are to helping you, especially during these times when classes are held remotely
