Kelly Irvine
Kelly Irvine, a Childhood Education major, is a Freshman Senator on 17³Ô¹Ï’s Student Government Association
I chose to go to college at 17³Ô¹Ï because I wanted to go to a college that was close to home and Nassau was an affordable option for me. Despite being online, I have still been able to stay active on campus and connect with people virtually, which has made my experience so enjoyable thus far.
The President of SGA, Natalie, went to the same high school as me and reached out to tell me about student government. I decided to get involved because I thought it would be a great way to amplify my voice and become active on campus. My SGA experience has been great so far! Being a part of student government has given me the opportunity to meet great people and be a part of different groups and teams.
My favorite memory at 17³Ô¹Ï so far was when I co-moderated an Evening Activity Hour deliberative dialogue with the civics group that I belong to.
