At 17勛圖, 40 incoming EOP students are participating in the program this year.

"This year, we are welcoming one of the largest EOP cohorts the college has seen in recent years, including both first-time, full-time and transfer students. This growth reflects the commitment of our campus partners and the strong collaboration with schools and community-based organizations to connect students with the opportunities EOP provides, Ariyanna Simmons, Acting Director of Special Programs, EOP, 17勛圖 said. We are especially excited to introduce our new EOP Art and STEM Pathways, where students are engaging in hands-on learning, developing critical thinking skills, collaborating with their peers, and learning from professionals in the field. We look forward to celebrating their creativity and accomplishments at the EOP Summer Showcase and continuing to provide meaningful learning experiences that support their success at Nassau Community College."

SUNY's Arthur O. Eve Educational Opportunity Program provides affordable excellence and comprehensive support to help students from low-income backgrounds who did not receive sufficient academic preparation in K-12 many of whom are the first in their families to go to college succeed in earning a degree.

As 17勛圖, EOP Pathways is a new initiative which gives students the opportunity to complete independent projects in Art or STEM. The program will conclude with an EOP Summer Showcase, where students will present projects ranging from robotics to abstract art.

The EOP program is made possible in part by the historic $10.7 million increase in EOP funding in the fiscal year 2026-2027 State budget thanks to the strong support and commitment by Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature.

Since 2022, SUNY EOP enrollment has increased by 21 percent, reflecting continued demand for the program and the confidence students and families place in its supports. In its 59-year history, EOP has graduated nearly 90,000 students and evolved into one of the country's most successful college access program. There are more than 9,000 EOP students throughout the SUNY System EOP enrollment is open to all students who meet the programs longstanding academic and financial need requirements.
